Rain, Rain, Rain

Posted by Scott at 11:59 PM

I didn't have much time to write today. I could write a few brief updates, seen further below. The day started in the usual manner. I dropped the girls off at their schools. I offered up a set of Sorrowful Mysteries, praying that Michelle's last five radiation treatments go well. I also got a call that my mom and dad left Michigan for New Hampshire at 5:30 in the morning and were well on their way.

It rained all day, which would tend to make the day gloomy, but I was happy for a couple of reasons. First I got my work goal for the day accomplished. Second I got a nice bonus. I hadn't had one in a while because my first year at QC was quite a struggle. I was learning an immense amount of new technology and didn't have a local mentor. Meanwhile mentally I was tormented with all of Michelle's treatments and what they were doing to her. Since then I've gotten more of a handle on my job role and I've also better adjusted to the cancer fight.

I had more rain on the commute home and listened to more of “The Diamond Age” along the way. I got news that mom and dad had gotten as far as the PA/NY border, which is a quite a long haul for one day given my mom's health. We should see them early tomorrow afternoon. Timothy and I did some tinkering on his tower. Around 9 o'clock I took Claire and Abby over to Hampshire Hills. They've been excited for a while about tonight's 'Lock In'. And this year Abby is old enough to attend the same one as Claire. Last year they were in separate age categories. I'm sure they'll be exhausted tomorrow when Michelle goes at 6am to pick them up.

The few minor items that I did capture through the day follow below:
