Strange dream

Posted by Scott at 07:10 AM

Last night I had one of those dreams that's scary, but not exactly a nightmare. It's just one of those ones where you're glad to wake up. Like most dreams, this one had little mixtures of reality but did not go together cohesively. Keep in mind today is the last day of the quarter. Last night I dreamt that I had a literature term paper that was due the following day for an English class. It was much like high school in that respect. I was supposed to write about some piece of classic fiction that I had read. Problem was, of course, that I hadn't written my paper. Worse yet, I hadn't even read a novel. Even though it was high school in nature, I saw one of my co-workers from VAutomation. He had his paper written several weeks ago and was just giving it one last review. I for my part am panicking and thinking that perhaps I can read one of Claire's abridged classic stories (it would only take an adult about an hour) and write on that. So again, there's this mixture of high school, yet I'm married, with children, living in Nashua, etc... the usual dream lack of continuity. I was woken up by one of our babies crying in his crib. Rarely have I been relieved to have a baby wake me up! ;-) It was a relief to face reality and know that I got through high school, college, and graduate school. Who says those things don't scar you?! Now it's off to work, where at least I get paid well for the stress and I have a bunch of customers who really care that I write them. :->
