Folks arrived

Posted by Scott at 09:20 PM

My parents arrived yesterday. I came home for lunch yesterday. Michelle and the youngest three kids were taking naps. Toward the end of my lunch, Alyssa called and asked if I'd heard from mom and dad. I said no, nothing yet. As we moved a few minutes towards other topics, mom and dad pulled up. I was glad to know they had made it before I headed back to work for the afternoon.

Before arriving in Nashua mom and dad had a nice time spending an afternoon with dad's cousin in Connecticut. Evidently his cousin there has outdone all of us in the fertility arena. They have eight grown children! By those standards, the rest of us are relatively barren!

Mom decided to surprise Claire by going along with Michelle to pick up Claire at school. For a second Claire was disoriented, but in a moment a large smile covered her surprised face.

Work was basically a week of catch-up. For the past three weeks I was caught up in training and debugging. It made it difficult to keep up with support issues. I plan on taking Monday off unless the weather takes a downward turn. Next week will be the last week of the quarter. That's always a stressful time as customers finally decide to write their purchase orders. Order fulfillment scrambles to burn CDs and we in customer support review the CDs to make sure they've got the bases covered. It's amazing how many oversights we uncover before the CDs are shipped.

I'm still waiting on some pictures from ShutterFly. The WTC tragedy has slowed down the mail that travels across the country. I'm not complaining, but I'm eager to see the photos of Claire in her school uniform.

The Hollywood fund raiser is on right now, so I'll take a break from writing to watch it.
