Short Updates

Posted by Scott at 11:59 PM

Good morning! Since the kids are on delayed start today, I didn't need to drop anyone off at school. I just head straight into the office and what a nice drive it was. Sunny and around 50°F. While Michelle doesn't have traditional chemo today, she will receive an infusion of Herceptin today. It was one of the medicines she had received with her chemo before and it will continue periodically until the end of the year. 8:58am

Enjoyed Thai lunch in Maynard. It is so gorgeous outside. I'm sure my San Diego counterparts would say "meh", but those of us who have seasons savor days like today. 1:46pm

Got off the phone with our health insurance. For some silly processing reason, 1 of the 16 chemo treatments was not being covered. Looks like it's settled now. Relieved. 4:25pm

For those on Verizon, it's my understanding that the HTC Incredible is coming April 29th. If you were waiting for the Google Nexus One, get the Incredible. 'cause it IS! Android 2.1 OS, 8.1MP camera w/flash, HTC Sense UI, turn-by-turn nav, and the usual host of Android goodies combined with the SnapDragon's 1GHz CPU speeds. Since I'm on Sprint, I may be just waiting for the HTC Evo release. 5:48pm

Smooth drive home. The boys were eager for me to put on the second half of "Curious George 2" when I walked in the door. 7:53pm

CNN Fights Back With ‘Objectivity’ Arguments - NYTimes.com
Comment: While I understand the left when they snicker at Fox's "Fair and Balanced" tag line, highlighting CNN as a paragon of objectivity is even more laughable.
Excerpt: Executives of CNN indicated how they plan to counter the growing ratings of — and buzz about — the rival Fox News Channel: play up their channel’s identity as an objective source of news.

Baby's first cubicle: Most depressing toy ever? | Crave - CNET
Comment: Man! As if the USA doesn't already have an engineering shortage, a toy like this could drive more children away. ;-P
Excerpt: If you make your kid think he can be president, he will grow up disappointed. Tell him he's headed for a life as an office drone and at least he'll be mentally prepared. Read this blog post by Adam Frucci on Crave.

Light relief: 12 Sweetest Pope Pictures
Comment: The author compiled this to counter the "Evil Pope Pictures" meme.
Excerpt: In the spirit of light relief, we’ve compiled a few of the sweetest pictures of Pope Benedict for the 12 Sweetest Pope Pictures meme. Personally I’ve never thought of B16 as particularly creepy looking–I’ve always had him in the cute, cuddly, but slightly shy and diffident grandpa category, a bit em...
