Vacation Day

Click to see the album...Vacation - Since Michelle and I won't be making any major trips to visit family this summer, I'll be taking occasional days off this summer for "day trips" around the region. I took Friday off to head up to the Lake Winnipesaukee area with the family. We took a day cruise on the M/S Mount Washington. We were truly blessed in that the weather was nearly ideal. It also turned out that Fridays are Family Fun Day on the ship with extra activities to keep kids happy, including Simplicity the Clown. I took several photos during the cruise. After the cruise we had a brief lunch at a Burger King located right on the lake. I don't think I've ever been to a BK with such a view! Afterwards we visited our long time friends, the Nix's, for a few hours so that their daughters could play with ours.

Besides photos I also took a few movies while on the boat that you can look at. Some of them may be a bit long for dialup modems. Hover over the links to see the file sizes and decide whether you want to download and view. I highly recommend the Timothy video.

KirbySaturday - Today was also nice outside but we took things a bit easier. The twins had a birthday party (their first) to go to this afternoon. While the twins were there with Michelle, I took Claire and Timothy to Target. There I bought two games: Planet Puzzle League for Michelle and Kirby Squeak Squad for the boys. Planet Puzzle The geeky aspect of this was that while I was staring at a wall of new Nintendo DS games on the shelf, I used my cell phone to surf over to Amazon's mobile site and get some customer reviews. It can be hard to judge a game just by its cover and the review helped me avoid purchasing a few titles that had poor ratings. I also saw a DVD that I was able to surf to Netflix's mobile site and add to our queue. It almost feels wrong to be at a store and effectively say, "hey, thanks for the rental idea!"

Shortly after we got back I took Timothy, Claire, and her friend over to the Milford pool for a short spell. Once we got back home, Michelle had hot dogs and hamburgers cooking on the grill. Because of the nice temps, some of us opted to eat out on the screened in porch. Ah... if only all of summer could be this mild and dry instead of turning hot, hazy, and humid.
