Visit to the Nix's

Posted by Scott at 10:07 PM

Today was a non-stop day. After getting the kids dressed and fed, we went to the YMCA for a quick morning workout. Afterwards we had a quick bit of shopping to do and then took the kids to their choice of food: Taco Bell. By the time we got out it was almost noon and the boys were looking like zombies. That was the plan! Before we even got on the highway they dozed off to sleep. Even Abby fell asleep despite an initial bit of resistance. It made driving up to the Nix's house much easier. We spent the afternoon there. The girls enjoyed playing outside in the snow for a while and then playing dressup later. Dave showed me some neat tricks with his new DVD player. He lit a fire and we had a nice dinner. Later I showed him the recently cool Phoenix web browser. I showed him a couple of the killer features like tabbed browsing and popup blocking, not to mention it's among the most web standards compliant browser there is. On the way home all the kids fell asleep, which again made for sane traveling. We got the kids from the van into their beds. From there we had to make several trips to unpack the van -- amazing considering that we didn't go on vacation, just a day trip. Tomorrow should be a much more homebound day by comparison. I think we're going to be working on Christmas cards.
