Michael - the Man's Man

Posted by Scott at 09:58 AM

In the master bedroom Michelle and I have one of those small combo TV/VCR units. It's most often used to check the weather forecasts when Michelle first wakes up. Michael and Daniel know from experience what a video tape looks like and what it does. Michael found a video tape in our room and ran over to the TV. Even though he's never done it before, he put the tape in the slot like an experienced VCR user. Of course, the TV automatically turns on and starts playing. Michelle and I were interested in what tape he put in. We both stopped what we were doing to see what Michael's first self selection was. The header passes, the signal starts, and it's, it's... the instructional video for the Sears Craftsman Tractor! ARGH, Argh, argh!!! Tim the Toolman Taylor would be so proud... I expect when I get home tonight Michael will be tooling around the yard kicking up snow.

Last night by the time I got home, Michelle was a bit worn out from the kids. This time of year doesn't help matters with the cold temperatures and early nightfall. After we put the boys down, I setup the Jacuzzi bath tub in the master bedroom. Claire and Abby had never seen it in use before. Claire remembered the hot tub at her vacation in Arizona and sooo wanted to try out our tub. Michelle enjoyed the relaxation although she might have enjoyed it more if the girls weren't buzzing around the tub asking 10 questions a minute. Towards the end Michelle started to use a little soap and the bath started bubbling big time. Then the girls really thought it cool. By the time it was all over I thought the girls would burst in anticipation of the time that they might be allowed to use the tub.

It snowed here this past day and is only on it's way out late this morning. We didn't have it as bad as North Carolina (with their ice storms knocking out power) but it did give the Milford schools a two hour starting delay. The good news is that it looks like this will give the girls some snow to sled on in the back yard.

Tomorrow we're going to visit our friends the Nix's up in Belmont, NH. They have two daughters who are about Claire and Abby's ages. We used to see them quite a lot when they lived down the street in Nashua. Nowadays we only see them about 4-5 times a year, but it's always fun.
