Habemus Papam!

Posted by Scott at 11:59 PM

Good morning! It's a sunny one here in NH, and the last bit of our warm spell. I had a dream last night that the Pope was selected. Almost grabbed my laptop in the middle of the night to double check. I went with Michelle and Timothy to 7:30 Mass. I listened to more of my current book on the drive down to the office. Looks like it's going to be a busy day. 9:15am

While it doesn't mention it, I think we power all five of these phones: 5 Best Android Phones March, 2013 via Android Reviews.

Went with the shader guys out for lunch at a local Korean restaurant. Each time I go I'm growing to love Bibimbap. I'll have to see if there's someway to get Michelle to try a bowl of it. 1:31pm

Video: If you have an iota of testosterone, you must watch Pepsi MAX & Jeff Gordon Present: "Test Drive". (I later showed it to Michelle and the kids and they loved it!) 1:43pm

HABEMUS PAPEM!!! 2:35pm

Pope Francis

I actually missed the formal Pope announcement. Once I saw the white smoke, I knew the selection announcement would soon follow. However I'd promised a good friend I'd meet him at 3 o'clock to discuss coming to Qualcomm instead of NVIDIA. I'll have to catch up on my commute. In the meantime I have some tests to clean up before I head out… Our pastor, a proud, proud Jesuit, has got to be on cloud nine! We just finished a nine day Lenten novena with the intercession of St. Francis Xavier, co-founder of the Society of Jesus (aka the Jesuits). And of course Claire, who took Frances as her Confirmation name, is also a bit proud. 4:00pm

Left work a bit early. Listened to some coverage of our new Pope on the drive north. Went straight to Golds for tonight's Step Interval training class. Afterwards went to St. Patricks for RCIA. Tonight's RCIA was more prep for the third and final of the Scrutinies. After this our candidates prepare for Holy Week liturgies and their reception of the sacraments at the Easter vigil. 8:15pm

Wow! Google Reader is shutting down in July. It's my favorite Google service. I like Google+ and Google search, but I'd really made the transition from client side news readers (namely NetNewsWire on the Mac) to using a cloud based solution so that I could read news anywhere. First it was Bloglines, but they suffered from reliability issues so I figured Google's service would be more stable and switched around the time I left AMD. Reading discussions here and here. 10:00pm

“Amen, amen, I say to you, whoever hears my word
and believes in the one who sent me
has eternal life and will not come to condemnation,
but has passed from death to life.”
