Rainy Monday

Posted by Scott at 10:00 PM

Good morning! Glad we enjoyed the pool yesterday because the next few days look like 'inside days'. Michelle took the kids with her to the Y so that she could teach her Step and Abs class. The boys will be in the kid workout area. Claire and Abby will likely take Michelle's class. 7:00am

I stopped by Cafe on the Oval for a quick omelette before my drive down. I offered up the Joyful Mysteries for Michelle's continuing good health and then just listened to Barbara McGuigan the rest of the way down. 45 new emails to triage then onto test writing and debugging. 9:30am

Deleted my Plaxo account. I can't even remember how/why I got into their system, but I'm finding their periodic emails to be annoying. Why did I wait this long? 9:41am

Via charlescwcooke: “The most bizarre progressive Obamacare talking point is that the law must be constitutional because Republicans once advocated it.” As one reply said, that mindset is the rhetorical cousin of: “Bush ran up big deficits, therefore even bigger deficits are good.” 9:56am

"The denial of personal guilt makes men ready to surrender their liberty." — Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen. (source link) 10:53am

That last quote inspired me to buy Archbishop Sheen's “Life is Worth Living” book. 11:25am

Good thing I had that omelette for breakfast. I had a conference call in 15 minutes and it's pouring rain outside. There's no way I'm going to walk five minutes in the rain to the cafeteria next door. 12:15pm

Left work a bit early. I listened to Al Kresta on the drive north. I went straight to Gold Gym for tonight's Definition class and Step class. When I got home, I got to enjoy a strawberry hand pie Claire made from scratch from a recipe in Country Living. It kind of reminded me of those little Hostess fruit pies I had growing up in River Grove, (home of the Hostess thrift shop) 7:04pm

When I checked my email I got notice that Timothy had cleared yet another course at Code Academy. He's done over 300 exercises there so far. It amazes me. 7:08pm

I'd almost forgotten but my phone reminded me that I had an 8 o'clock conference call with San Diego and Shanghai. Michelle got the boys tucked in bed with their prayers. After the call I head downstairs to hang out with Michelle and Abby and discuss weighty subjects like what the ideal ice cream flavor would be. My vote would be an ice cream that tastes a bit like a Mounds bar, coconut ice cream with chocolate swirled in. Good night all! 9:59pm

‘Let me remove that splinter from your eye,’
while the wooden beam is in your eye?
You hypocrite, remove the wooden beam from your eye first;”
Matthew 7
