Daniel Checked

Posted by Scott at 11:59 PM

Good morning! I know some people overuse the term 'literally' but we literally could not see the house across the street when the sun came up this morning. The fog was so thick. But hey, it's Friday! Depending on the weather, Heron Pond School will be having its Safety Fair tonight. 6:14am

I got the girls dropped off at their schools. Michelle will be dropping the Michael and Timothy off at school and taking Daniel to his physician. We recently learned that he was bitten by a tick a few weeks ago and Michelle wants to make keep ahead of it in case Lyme in involved. 9:32am

I offered up a set of Luminous Mysteries for Michelle on the commute down. The sun burned off all of that heavy early morning fog. It's Friday Bagel Day here at the office. I always enjoy those morning toasted bagels. 9:34am

As someone who usually drinks coffee with cream and sugar or some other form of foo-foo flavoring, I enjoyed this author waxing eloquently on Coffee When It Is Black. 10:29am

Michelle is done taking Daniel to the doctor and brought him to school. They looked it over, gave him a blood test, and advised Michelle on symptoms to be on the lookout for. 10:45am

Learn about their retirementThe Austerity Myth. Interesting to compare Greece with Estonia in the "austerity" meme. 1:07pm

Don't retire like my brother!. Goodbye Click 'n Clack! I'd first listened to their great ‘Car Talk’ show back around 1993 when we were living in Dayton and I was spending weekends working on my Masters Thesis. I'd tune into their show while debugging, writing, editing… Little did I know that a year later I'd be moving so close to where they broadcast from. A few years ago I bought and enjoyed their book, “Ask Click and Clack”. It's a quick, fun read with the same humor you get from their show. 1:35pm

Video: Ever wonder what they're saying in that classic song “O Fortuna”?? Well, I'm pretty sure these are NOT the words, but it's funny either way. 2:30pm

Debugged all that I could for today. Logged my hours. Wrote my weekly status. Time to pack it up, head north, start the weekend, and enjoy time with the family… 5:11pm

Had a smooth drive north just listening to EWTN along the way. Dealt with yet another pop up thunderstorm in the middle of it — much like yesterday. Michelle took the kids to the Safety Fair at Heron Pond School. She said that while it briefly look ominous outside, it stayed dry for the whole event. 7:30pm

Watched a few Disney sitcoms with the kids, waiting for Claire to call. After I tucked the boys in bed with their prayers, I got a nice text message that Claire would get a ride home from a co-worker. I'm guessing that means they were getting behind on cleanup chores. Good night all! 9:51pm
