Oncology Followup

Posted by Scott at 09:47 PM

Good morning! Looks like it's going to be a steamy one here. It's currently 64°F with 98% humidity, but it's supposed to hit 82°F this afternoon. I dropped the girls off at their schools, but am working from home today. Michelle has an oncologist appointment this afternoon and I need to be around the house then. 8:19am

Claire will be singing with her chorus at tonight's Fisher Cats game. When I dropped her off at school, she was still pretty tired from working last night. I'll be picking her up when she's done singing as she's too tired to stay for the game. 8:21am

Was surprised StoveKeepers sent two of their staff over to do our annual wood stove spring cleanings. One is working on the first floor main stove while the other works on the basement stove. The cats are going a bit crazy hearing two vacuums running while their curiosity keeps them watching from a distance. 9:58am

Michelle has made her most creative juice yet: carrot, celery, apple, pineapple, and a bit of ginger root. 10:49am

Amazon linkTimothy's book, "Bridge to America", just arrived via UPS. 11:30am

Took Michelle out for lunch at Cafe on the Oval, forgetting that they are doing road work on Elm Street. Left lunch a bit in a hurry because my phone was saying I had a 1 o'clock call. Turns out that it had been cancelled this morning, but my phone didn't sync the update. Rushing for nothin'. 1:10pm

Michelle has head out to oncology… 2:40pm

Just dropped Claire off at high school for tonight's Chorus Concert at Fisher Cats Stadium. Feeling a bad feeling because I haven't heard from Michelle. 4:59pm

I heard from Michelle. Even though I hadn't heard anything in an hour and a half since her appointment started, there were no bombshells. Just a lot of discussions about various things with her oncologist. 5:10pm

Got a couple of new test suites written today. Time to head out and pick up Claire. Google says it'll take about 40 minutes to get there. 6:05pm

Brought Claire back from Manchester. Things were about half an hour later than expected. 8:05pm

Michelle just got some more good news from oncology. Her CK enzyme levels are now completely normal. And her main tumor shrunk by about 15% [correction: about 15% in diameter or roughly a third in mass] in those three weeks on the trial. If only the drug combination had been tolerable with her body chemistry. Her new regimen starts this weekend. 8:34pm

We also found out that when her sister Maria visits in a week, she'll stay for nearly a month. I think the companionship will be most welcome. 8:37pm

“Rather, whoever wishes to be great among you will be your servant;
whoever wishes to be first among you will be the slave of all.
For the Son of Man did not come to be served but to serve
and to give his life as a ransom for many.”
