Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Posted by Scott at 08:47 PM

Good morning! Michelle dropped Claire off at work. I took the rest of us to the YMCA. The kids used the new kid workout area and I took the Step class led by Michelle. About half the class knew her from her Monday classes and half were new to her. She got several warm compliments at the end. Afterwards the Y had special St. Patrick cookie decorating tables that the kids enjoyed. 11:00am

Thumbnail of Michelle's New RosaryOrdered this rosary for Michelle earlier this week. It arrived today. Perfect timing, arriving right on the Feast of Saint Patrick. I bought it in memory of Michelle's lost/stolen emerald wedding ring ~14 yrs ago. While I miss that unique ring, I'm still surrounded by many visible signs of our marriage. (Click photo at left to see more detail. It's not the best picture, but I did my best…) 2:30pm

Michelle took Daniel to his dance class and went shopping with Abby. She then brought Abby to her dance class and brought Daniel home. I was watching another episode of Fr. Barron while folding laundry. Then Timothy and I watched a recent episode of Tekzilla on TiVo. 2:45pm

Michelle brought me back a coffee from A&E and soon I was off to pick Abby from dance and pick up Claire from Subway. Claire and Timothy are serving at the 4 o'clock Mass on this Laetare Sunday. I'm doubting our pastor will wear the traditional rose colored vestments. 3:35pm

Thumbnail of Claire on her half birthdayWent with the family to St. Patrick's for Mass. Is it any surprise that aside from our pastor's Lenten purple vestments, there was a lot of green there today?? Then took the family for dinner at Red Arrow Diner. After ordering Timothy was asking me to describe the difference between machine code and assembly code, and I fumbled my way through it. The wait staff all has festive green outfits in honor of the holiday. On our way home the girls picked up a cake for Claire's half birthday. 6:20pm

Got the boys tucked in bed with their evening prayers. I'd setup "Gattaca" on the TiVo for Michelle to start watching. She got as far as Ethan Hawke's character starting to scam the system and getting the job at Gattaca. She can watch the rest tomorrow. I also got it because Claire was thinking of doing a position paper for school next year on abuses of genetic screening.9:00pm

Time for me to wrap it up. I'll close with a few prayers and get some sleep. Tomorrow is a lazy morning. No early Mass. Claire doesn't work. We can take it easy. Good night all! 9:20pm

for everyone who exalts himself will be humbled,
and the one who humbles himself will be exalted.”
