Cable FINALLY Works

Posted by Scott at 11:59 PM

Good morning! Tim and I have been tinkering on our laptops. The rest are watching some Netflix streaming. I discovered that the new Dr. Who Christmas Special trailer is up! Looks awesome. 7:55am

Claire and I went to the Saturday morning Step and Abs class at Golds. Now its time for Claire and I to do our annual late autumn gutter clean out. A few leaves but predominantly pine needles and dirt. 11:00pm

Michelle took Daniel to his dance class. I took Timothy to his piano lesson and Abby to her friend's house. I tried to setup the basement convertor box but like the TiVos, it says that it's not authorized. Michelle dropped Claire off at Subway for the 3pm to closing shift. 2:45pm

The Comcast guy came and authorized our two TiVos and the dedicated decoder box. All that waiting and he needed ten minutes to basically tell the local office to authorize the units. Grrr... I told them this at their office days ago, saying the units are paired but hadn't been provisioned from the local office. 4:43pm

The kids seem to be compensating for the lack of cable by watching a lot of Disney channel. Now I'm picking up dinner from Pizzeria Roma tonight. Chicken Parm, ravioli, and lasagna. We're trying to expand the boys' eating habits just a bit beyond hot dogs, chicken nuggets, mac 'n cheese, etc. 5:14pm

After dinner I taught Timothy how to play the classic Klondike style Solitaire, both with a computer and with regular playing cards. I also showed Michelle where it was on her lil' netbook. I searched in vain for a version of Kings in the Corner for her netbook. It doesn't seem like anyone has written one for Linux. 8:30pm
