Power is back

Posted by Scott at 11:59 PM

Good morning! So happy to report that we got our power back sometime between 8pm and 9pm last night. We were out of the house at the time visiting good friends in New Boston. This morning I dropped the girls off at their schools. I swung by DFE to get some coffee, juices, and egg sandwiches. Michelle dropped the boys off at their school and is now doing last bits of refrigerator clean out. Soon she'll head to the grocery store to restock, since we lost all of our cold items. I'm working from home today, enjoying sunshine and a warm house. 8:57am

Via edwestonline: I often think to myself 'what this country needs is more laws, specifically laws made in response to shocking news stories'. 9:05am

YES!!! The end of an era: Internet Explorer drops below 50% of Web usage: (related link) 9:15am

Learned of another trip to San Diego. Went with Michelle for lunch at Cafe on the Oval and stopped at DFE on the way back. Now back to conference calls and debugging. 1:55pm

Long day at work, trying to wrap things up a bit before my long weekend. Helped Claire with her Algebra II homework while Abby went off to Youth Group. I helped Timothy setup a Windows8 beta on a virtual machine. 8:39pm

Qualcomm announces Q4 earnings: rakes in $4.12 billion in revenue. Excerpt: "The Qualcomm juggernaut just keeps on rolling. As the company's financial year comes to a close it's celebrating yet another stellar quarter, reporting $4.12 billion in revenue -- up 39-percent from the same time last year..." 9:40pm

After they were done watching The Middle, I tucked the boys in with their prayers. I almost choked up when Timothy added "and keep papa safe as he travels to Chicago". Totally unsolicited. I went out to pick up Abby from Youth Group where they discussed Jesus' washing of his disciples' feet at the Last Supper. Now all is quiet and it's time to get some rest. 9:42pm
