Claire's First Day of School

Click to see largerGood morning! Today is Claire's first day of school. The girls took the buses to school today but soon they'll revert to their usual drop off routines as the "new school year" aura wears off. I stopped by Cafe on the Oval for a quick breakfast on the way down to Boxborough. Had a smooth drive in, seeing the school buses again on the roads. 9:09am

Via NPR: Soda Or Pop? Which Do You Drink? I grew up firmly in 'pop' territory but now live in die-hard 'soda' country. 1:10pm

A PR Disaster for ‘Green Jobs’: “A company that served as a showcase for the Obama administration’s effort to create jobs in clean technology shut down Wednesday, leaving 1,100 people out of work and taxpayers obligated for $535 million in federal loans.” 2:04pm

Via GirlDictionary: “If women ruled the world there wouldn't be any wars, but just a bunch of jealous countries not talking to each other.” 2:23pm

Via EntreLeadership: “According to Google, 97% of Americans search online for local products & services, but 63% of small businesses do not have a website.” 2:41pm

A former Planned Parenthood manager in her own words. First @AbbyJohnson , now Ramona. I'm hopeful. 2:53pm

Left work early to catch a conference call with San Diego that runs from 5 to 7 o'clock (Eastern Time). Caught up with my dad for the first portion of the drive then listened to Tech News Today #318 the rest of the way home. 5:24pm

Channeling a bit of Donny and Marie: “I'm a little bit Polish... and I'm a little bit New England Yank!” Michelle just brought me a plate of dinner while I listen in on these work discussions: Pierogi and Kielbasa with sides of Boston Baked Beans and New England Brown Bread. 5:27pm

Via LT_TheBiblegeek: Air travel really does offer countless opportunities to grow in virtue...unfortunately. ;) #tweetingthisfrom30000feet 7:15pm

Got the boys tucked in bed with their prayers. Helped Claire with some math homework. As she advances each year it dusts off more distant brain cells for topics I haven't used in a while. I'm trying to take it as an opportunity, but when it's 9 o'clock, it's difficult to be that positive. Good night all! 9:30pm
