The Recovery Begins

Scott Adams: Windows Phone Superior to iPhone, Android. I hope it does well. It's too early to narrow to 2 phone OS's. 5:58am

Good morning! While Michelle says I should go into the office, she's still sore and there's lots going on here at the house today so I'll be VPN'd into the office and working from home today. 9:19am

I've already dropped Claire off for cross country training. Michelle is on her way to get her hair washed and trimmed. She won't be able to wash it herself for several days. Sanford is here doing scheduled maintenance on the HVAC and water heater. And soon the cleaning ladies will be here. 9:21am

Michelle will soon be heading out to get her hair trimmed and washed, esp. since she can't wash her own hair yet. But I thought this was cute: Because it's warm outside, she's wearing a sleeveless blouse. So for the first time I saw that her right deltoid (ripped as it is!) now has "Yes!" inked on it, a remnant from pre-operation preparation. I remembered two years ago seeing "Yes" and "No" inked on her breasts for similar reasons. I know why they do this, but I still find it a bit funny. 9:38am

Thinking about attending this event this weekend with the family. It's one of our favorite local restaurants and it gives me an excuse to get Michelle a margarita. 11:01am

A bit of humor to lighten the day:
The economy is so bad that, I got a pre-declined credit card in the mail.
CEO's are now playing miniature golf. Exxon-Mobil laid off 25 Congressmen.
Angelina Jolie adopted a child from America.
Motel Six won't leave the light on anymore.
A picture is now only worth 200 words.
They renamed Wall Street “Wal-Mart Street”
Finally, I called the suicide hotline. I got a call center in Pakistan and when I told them I was suicidal, they got all excited, and asked if I could drive a truck!! 11:05am

Michelle and Claire are back from their hair stylist. Michelle feels much better with clean hair and a fresh trim. I told her to go back again on Monday if she can. 11:07am

For your reading entertainment: Space Aliens Are Probably Progressive Liberals. Comments on and reviews the recent paper by a NASA affiliate and two Penn State profs laying out various scenarios that might play out in the aftermath of first contact with an alien intelligence. 3:40pm

After dinner Timothy and I got our geek on. We downloaded and installed Puppy Linux. In Timothy's laptop case he's trying it in a virtual machine that's hosted on Linux. So he's running one Linux inside of another. Nerdy! Even more so for an 8 year old. 8:25pm

Got the boys tucked in bed with their prayers. Soon it'll be time to pick up Claire from work. 9:00pm
