Car-less

Posted by Scott at 11:59 PM

Good morning! Today is the Solemnity of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary into Heaven. Soon I'm dropping my Jetta off for some minor body work. Thus I'll be working from home today and tomorrow. Michelle will be in Merrimack to teach her last Step and Abs class there for a while. 6:41am

I dropped the Jetta off. I think this is the first time in decades I've been car-less for more than a portion of a day (ie. maintenance service visits, etc.) Michelle picked me up to bring me back home. Then she took Claire and the boys in the van. She's dropping Claire off for cross country training and taking the boys with her to the YMCA while she teaches her class. Abby is sleepin' in. I would too, but there's tests to write and logic to debug... 8:26am

Tomorrow a new VeggieTales comes out: Princess and the Popstar. See the trailer here on YouTube. 9:07am

See the full cartoon Humor: Find your SPF. Judging by that table, I think I'm at SPF 100. 9:22am

My wife has the same tattoo that she mentions in this cartoon. I do not have the one he mentions. This cartoon still hit home for me in a bittersweet way. 9:36am

Claire is back from her cross country training with her coach and the team. Two hours in this rain at Adams Field. That's some dedication. Now she's heading to work the lunch shift at Subway. Then at 2 o'clock she'll man the farm stand on Amherst Street. Hope she doesn't catch a cold in this cool, rainy weather. 10:14am

The Prequel to the 2nd half of season 6 of Doctor Who is out, teasing us as usual. ;-] 11:18am

I have Spotify Premium but still tend towards my Amazon Cloud Player. Spotify is still not clicking for me. 11:48am

Finished listening to Ubik over lunch break. Soon time to get started on The Hiding Place. 12:55am

It's been <48 hrs since Gov. Perry announced & the full-court press smear is in full swing. Reminds me of the day after McCain chose Palin as his running mate. 1:02pm

Spent a few hours chasing down Lint warnings in some C code I "owned", even if I didn't write it! ;-] (related link) 3:45pm

Finished up around 5:15 and head over to Golds for tonight's Step Circuit class. Because of our current situation, Michelle had to drop me off and pick me up in the van. I felt like I was 15 again depending on my dad for a ride. Now to down a quick dinner and then head north to an Opus Dei Circle. Hoping to get in a set of the Joyful Mysteries on the way there. 6:58pm

Just back from tonight's Circle. Tonight's themes: today's Gospel (the Visitation and Magnificat) and the Universal Call to Holiness. 9:53pm

The drive home was almost scary. It's been raining solidly all day and particularly this evening. One had to drive under the speed limit so as not to over drive your headlight's range. If this doesn't revive NH lawns to a Seattle-like lushness, nothing will. I hope no regions are suffering from flooding tonight. 9:56pm
