Wii Party

Posted by Scott at 09:52 PM

Good morning! It's a bright sunny one here. I spent the first bit looking for a decent Android app for uploading to Flickr. The Sprint HTC EVO 4G has had this feature built in since day one, but an update in January recent introduced a subtle bug/annoyance: your photos are always uploaded as private. So many Flickr apps are available but went with Flickroid because it didn't try to slice and dice. It's just a small Flickr uploading app and is a simple workaround for this glitch. 7:21am

Back with the family from Mass at St. Patricks followed by our Sunday morning behave-and-you-can-have-donuts "bribery" breakfast at DFE. 11:10am

Go to their web siteWe're had Wii Party since Christmas but only in the last day has my family discovered how much fun it is. Abby & Michelle are playing now. 11:13am

Even though it's only ~10% cheaper, mail ordered Claire some eye contacts just to have the convenience of having them delivered to the house and get the automatic reminders for renewals. 1:23pm

Ran a few errands with Claire to get out of the house for a bit. Now getting my geek on by refreshing my brain on Calc Mode now that it's been updated and is included with Emacs. Last time I looked at it was about a dozen years ago when it was buggy. Meanwhile Claire's giving Michelle a heart attack by researching what it would cost for the seven of us to fly to Los Angeles this summer. Driving to Indianapolis just keeps looking better... 3:47pm

We had some takeout Chinese from Kowloon Wasabi for dinner. Afterwards I took Claire and two friends to their Confirmation class. (Later I found out that they watched one of my favorite movies, Bella, at class.) 6:12pm

While the kids played more Wii Play, I was still going through the Calc Mode tutorial. It reminds of decades ago learning all the things one could do with the powerful HP calculators (the HP-41C series, the HP-28 series, …), especially when they added symbolic math manipulation and graphing. Calc Mode is incredibly powerful for being just something thrown into the Emacs editor. Eventually though I got the boys all tucked in bed with their prayers. After a couple of shows of Disney's "Good Luck Charlie" the girls went off to bed too. Good night all! 9:51pm
