Short Updates

Posted by Scott at 11:59 PM

Good morning! Looks like a beautiful day ahead, judging by the sunrise. I'll be heading down to Boxborough, debugging what's known as ETC2. Michelle has a pretty free day ahead, aside from taking Claire to the eye doctor for her annual visit. Claire is eligible for new frames this year. 6:37am

It was a nice commute in. Not a cloud in the sky and temps around 65°F. Sunroof weather! I offered a Sorrowful Rosary for my wife and mom and an extra decade for vocations. The extra is this month's prayer intention for folks working with Opus Dei. Listened to more Bros K the rest of the way. 8:47am

Laughing a little: "Apple has placed orders for millions of CDMA Chipsets [used by Verizon] from 'the Qualcomm'." (related link) "the"? 9:47am

Conceiving a Bad Romantic Comedy: “Artificial insemination, it turns out, is the new box-office poison.” (related link) 10:07am

Whoa! imaxima and imath modes for Emacs. (related link) Nerdgasm! 10:28am

I've seen this before but wanted to share it as I saw it again today: Look at yourself after watching this [YouTube Video, ~4 min.] 12:40am

When lay Catholics neglect apostolate for ministry This article struck a chord with me because its a major theme in Opus Dei. Never a mention of ministry (ie. EM's, lectoring) but always apostolate -- a layman engaged in putting faith to work in the secular world. 12:48am

If you listen closely, you can hear my lawn about to scream. The smell of freshly-cut grass is actually a plant distress call 12:57am

Too. Many. Jokes. "Prototype fuel system runs on urine..." 1:09pm

Excited for Michelle. Her Kindle 3 finally shipped today. <sarcasm>Only 4 days after her birthday. </sarcasm> but in time for her trip. 4:30pm

Had some good successes at work this week. Smooth drive home. Caught up with mom and then listened to more Dostoyevsky the rest of the way. I forgot to mention that Claire got some trial contact lenses today. She was also happy that her prescription hadn't changed this past year. Her eyes are stabilizing. 7:08pm

Looking into a few sci-fi movie classics for the weeks ahead: Metropolis, The Day The Earth Stood Still, Forbidden Planet, Blade Runner, Brazil, Primer, Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind... 7:47pm
