Short Updates

Posted by Scott at 10:14 PM

Good morning! I've dropped the girls off. Michelle is on her way to Merrimack to kick some aerobi-mommy butt. I'm VPN'd in from home for the rest of this overcast, humid, 50°F day. Bleah! 8:19am

Had a good day of analysis, debug, & fixes. Cube mapping now working. Logged out and starting my weekend. I've got 1 daughter doing a sleepover away, another having one here. Conservation of kidlets. 7:05pm

Just out of curiosity, I decided to see what became of Rejaw. Back before 90% of Facebook users came online, Rejaw tried to best Twitter by mixing social microblogging with chat, not unlike what Facebook does now. Sadly I came to find out it shut its service in May last year. Cross another one off my list of Facebook alternatives. 8:29pm

Checked out Orkut and then tinkered more with FriendFeed. FriendFeed seems to have what I'm looking for in microblogging w/archive. Will tinker with it more over the weekend. Good night all. 10:14pm

Bookmarks I made today:

Facebook users flock to find delete instructions
Comment: With Mark Zuckerberg changing the rules every week, who isn't surprised?
Excerpt: GOOGLE has been inundated by Facebook users trying to find out how to delete their accounts after the social networking website's latest round of privacy changes.

Cellphones Now Used More for Data Than for Calls
Comment: The irony.
Excerpt: For many Americans, cellphones have become irreplaceable tools to manage their lives and stay connected to the outside world, their families and networks of friends online. But increasingly, by several measures, that does not mean talking on them very much.

DUI Pregnant Mom Charged With Killing Fetus
Comment: But, but what if she was driving to the abortion clinic? ::sigh::
Excerpt: Jessica Bruce, a pregnant Georgia woman, who led police on a high speed chase through a suburban neighborhood outside Atlanta, will likely be charged in the death of the 24-week-old baby she was carrying.

Chris Christie Smacks Down Reporter
Comment: This so made my day. It was like having Dogbert answer the reporter.
Excerpt: "You know, Tom, you must be the thinnest-skinned guy in America."

Snapshots I took today:
