Short Updates

Posted by Scott at 09:07 PM

Good morning! Waking up to three inches of unexpected snow. I knew we were supposed to get a lot this weekend, but that was supposed to start later today. Because the pattern for this storm is rare, they really don't know how much to predict. 7:04am

A bit of a lazy morning. Still... I'm glad to wake up to a full house including our girls. They bring balance to our goofy boys. The Christmas tree is coming down (sniff) and now I'm going to do a little snow removal. I'm guessing this'll be the first of three times this weekend. 9:35am

Just experienced a tremor. It really startled the kids. Hadn't felt one of those in years. Last time I felt one here was about half a dozen years ago. 10:19am

I have to admit. This snowblower is overkill for 3-4". It's intended for larger Nor'easter's. But it made quick work of the driveway. Now all showered up and ready to head into town for lunch. Even though our boys have never been there, they have their hearts set on Red Arrow Diner . 11:28am

Had a great lunch with the family at Red Arrow Diner. Bought Michelle one of their baseball caps with their logo to add to her increasing collection of scarves and hats. I'll be so happy when she retires this collection this summer. 1:02pm

Finally finished the musical "High Society" on DVD. (related link) Besides having Bing, Sinatra, and Louis Armstrong (Satchmo), it was also Grace Kelly's last film before becoming Princess Grace of Monaco. 4:47pm

In other semi-sad news Michelle and I took down the Christmas tree and decorations today. To me taking the stuff down this early always makes the dreariness of January seem longer. 4:55pm

Looking at this big blue blob on the Doppler radar moving EAST to WEST towards us and thinking, "this won't be pretty". Good night all! 9:04pm

Comment: Glad I did a little searching. My kids have been asking about the television ad and saying "we should get that for our kittehs".

Comment: I updated my mileage stats with the last six months of fuel-ups. This year, while having about 10% lower MPG (due to more shorter trips), used *much* less fuel overall since I'm not making daily trips down to Marlborough.
