One of the engineering challenges I love about working in the mobile phone world is how incredibly OCD we are about power management in our digital designs. But then, we have to be! "Give it what was supercomputer performance a decade ago... but make it run on Li-ion batteries."
Was listening to a talk on optimizing for the mobile web browser. Most of the stuff I had heard before, but did learn about inline embedding small images with "data urls" to reduce # of fetches. Eager to try this optimization when I have the time.
