Oh No... Four Oh

Posted by Scott at 10:39 PM

While I'm not older than dirt, perhaps now I'm competing with compost? The last time "four oh" was relevant to me was ~20 years ago as a grade point average to shoot for!

Friday - I left the office shortly after lunch on Friday when I realized that my drivers license would expire on Saturday. In NH renewal costs $50 and wouldn't you know it, I had $49 on me. The ID photo camera seemed to be mounted at stomach level, so my photo seems to show an awful lot of neck and chin. I spent the rest of the afternoon finishing up work from my home desk. Later in the afternoon the Kucmas' came over while we had burgers on the grill, birthday cake and ice cream.

Click to see the albumSaturday - We spent the morning visiting Lull Farm Stand, Carriage House Coffee, Chappell Tractor, and the County Stores. We are starting to look into a replacement mower for the small walk behind model Michelle trims with. It's about 17 years old and could stand to be replaced. After running errands we took the kids to see Ratatouille at the Nashua Chunkys. Cute movie.

Sunday - Besides the usual Mass and breakfast, we took the kids (and three more) to Adams Park in Peterborough and lunch at Gary's Harvest. In the late afternoon I did a little phone work, making this album and a Nextel ringtone of the iPhone default ringer. Admittedly the ringtone sounds awful because most Nextel phones are limited to an 8kHz audio sample rate. If your phone can support it, use this higher quality version. While I think last week's rollout was over the top, using a rendition of the ringtone was a bit of an homage to Steve Jobs marketing coup. I hope this phone helps to pressure other vendors to focus a bit more on intuitive ease of use...

Happy belated birthday, Scott.
At least you didn't have to worry about end-of-the-quarter junk this year ;)

I must be getting old! I fell asleep on the couch last night around 7pm while the family was watching TV. A classic Grandpa Bob maneuver. The kids said I even started snoring.

Perhaps I was just a bit tired from yesterday's fitness class...

Happy birthday, man! Forty's the new thirty... right? Right? Right? (Can you tell I'm just about there myself?)
