Sunny Sunday

Posted by Scott at 09:30 PM

A quick rundown of the day's events:

  • Morning Mass at 7am followed by breakfast with friends afterwards. I missed the first half of Mass because I sat with Timothy in the van while he calmed down. I'll say no more...
  • I took the van for a fillup and to the carwash. Abby and Timothy cleaned the insides afterwards.
  • While the van insides were getting cleaned, Michelle and I worked on the lawn. Since I dropped the blade a notch, I needed to empty the bags quite often. *grumble*
  • I had a quick lunch and then rested while watching Abby complete Super Paper Mario. It's the first game of its type where someone in the house actually made it all the way to the very end.
  • We took the kids to south Nashua to buy them some books from Barnes and Noble and dinner from Smokey Bones.
  • We put the boys to bed and I watched a few episodes of Disney's Hanna Montana. Now I finally know what the show is about. Welcome to 2006, eh?
  • Click to see the albumI pulled 14 pictures out of my phone and put them online. Suzanne has seen a few of these already, as we've been experimenting with our phones' abilities.
  • Just checking the news via the internet, evidently the very same school Claire will enter next fall has caused quite the blogger backlash because of its Open Tent Day. (Cabinet article) Hmmm....
  • My goodness! Is it really 60 days until our 18th anniversary? Tomorrow mom becomes officially "older than dirt" although it was celebrated yesterday. Happy Birthday Mom! (I can hear it now: "Such a way to talk about your mother!")
Comments

Cass got the Hanna Montana 3 disc set for Christmas- it was a favorite for car rides for a while!
Interesting article about Claire's future school. I get what the teacher was trying to do, but I cna see why people may have been upset. Was anyone from school actually bothered, any parents, or just bloggers who read about it? At least they were jr. high students, not primary.
Mom's party went well, we didn't give her the present yet. I'm doing laundry so I can pack now- we had an unexpected trip to the ER around 8:00 tonite- Cass hit herself with a bat (she doesn't know her own strength!) and needed 5 stitches on her forehead. Suzy, sorry to freak you out with bad news over the webpage! She's ok now, but we had to do the best we could to help her pretty face!
Talk to you soon!

Hi Lyss,

This article was in the local "Milford Cabinet". Unfortunately I just let our subscription lapse just a few months ago. I was getting the paper and wouldn't get around to reading it. So I had no idea. I hadn't heard about it from any neighborhood parents either.

Lately what's been bothering us is the "recommended reading" Claire received for the summer. It's all environmental, which I don't have a problem with, but it's all from the point of view that man and industry intrinsicly destroy the environment and that it's going downhill. By many measureable metrics, our environment is significantly better than it was, say, 50 years ago.

Glad mom's party went well. I wish I could have flown out just for the weekend. I hope she enjoys her present. "The check is in the mail", errr, it'll go out today.

I hope Cassidy heals well from her incident. Ouch!

Talk to you soon. Got to get ready for work...

Hi all,

In case anyone was wondering about those last two pictures... In the middle of my Toronto trip, my co-workers and I decided to try some Persian food. We went to a restaurant called "Zaffron" and I had their Sultani Kebob Combo. See:

for more details.
