Photo Album

Click to see the albumPhotos - As promised, I worked on an album of recent pictures. Most are from Halloween, the boys banging on my old computer, and my recent trip with mom and dad to Weston, VT. Click on Daniel's smiling Doo-Be face to see the album.

Classics - Today I watched a classic from 1945 called The Keys of the Kingdom. Once you can see past Gregory Peck and Vincent Price as Catholic priests, it was an inspiring movie. If it was made today, Hollywood would make sure the priest had an affair or abused alter servers or something. Instead it shows the boyhood background of a man who later becomes a priest (even though he thought he'd marry his childhood sweetheart). After a few not so inspired tours as a local parish priest, he volunteers for the challenges of starting a mission in a district of China. He has an uphill battle, especially getting things started, but slowly builds a flock through the example of his character in tough situations, including a war.

Netflix - More and more often I'm seeing DVDs languish in our rental queue. I changed my Netflix account to revise it back down to 3 checkouts at a time. The downsizing kicks in near the end of the month. While I really enjoy my classics, it's rare that I get the time to enjoy them. Meanwhile the kids rip through their choices, often the same day that they arrive.
