Goodbye Pundits

Primaries over - Although I couldn't vote to influence the democratic primary, I'm glad it's behind us. The mass exodus of news media has occurred. The state can now resume its life of obscurity from the national spotlight. Now South Carolina can endure the force of media scrutiny for a while. Congratulations to Senator Kerry, although I wish Lieberman and Edwards had stronger numbers. Alas, there are still plenty of states left to go.

Non snow storm - I took today off because of the snow storm that had been projected. Claire already had Tuesday off from school due to the primaries and it looked like she might have today off as well. As Murphy's Law would have it, as the storm front drew closer, the weather forecasts got tamer. By this morning I woke to find almost no snow on the ground and no school closings. Since I had already requested it off, I just went through with it anyway. It's been nice to have a break in the middle of the week like this. It has been snowing all day, but even now the accumulations are only about two inches - far short of the early predictions. The boys and I will go outside to clear it after I post this.

Bad timing - When Michelle looked over Claire's school schedule she realized that Claire has winter break the exact same week I'm going to be in Ohio assisting with product training. I feel so awful! If we had noticed this last month, I could have tried to schedule for the week before or after. It's difficult enough that I'll be gone for a few days but now she'll have Claire asking "what can I do now?".
