Just being mean

Posted by Scott at 11:09 PM

Separated at birth? In the past 48 hours I've heard both Don Imus and Jay Leno make this analogy:

Composite of Gollum and James Carville

OK, it's about the most "mean spirited" thing I've done on this webpage. I just remember how many times I saw James Carville ("the Ragin' Cajun") during the Clinton administration. He was the most annoying Clinton apologist I ever saw. He was more loud and obnoxious than just about any right wing commentator at the time. In his eyes Clinton could do no wrong. There are plenty of conservatives who have a bone to pick with G. W. Bush, but to James, there always seemed to be a "conspiracy" by the "right wing" around every corner trying to bring his man Clinton down. "Release the dogs of war!", as the famous Carville tag line used to go.

Considering that in the Lord of the Ring series Gollum was a conflicted character and that James married conservative strategist/writer Mary Matalin, perhaps the similarity is closer than I initially thought...

Current forecast for tomorrow:

A major Nor'easter will affect the Granite State and surrounding areas this entire weekend. The storm track looks like it will be ideal to give parts of New Hampshire over 2 feet of snow, with spot 30"+ amounts by Sunday afternoon. Driving will become difficult by Saturday morning across southern and central NH, and across all areas for the rest of the weekend. Gusty winds will create near blizzard conditions at times Saturday afternoon into Sunday.
