My weekend

Posted by Scott at 07:02 PM

My friends just left an hour ago and it's kind if sad. We had a really great time this weekend! On Friday night, Seth and I made spaghetti, salad, and garlic bread for everyone. Then we went and met up with several more friends at Fat Jack's, a popular bar in Bloomington. Saturday morning I had a meeting. Once I came back, we all went to the zoo. It was a beautiful day and the weather was perfect. After a few hours there, we came back home to nap. We watched the movie Igby Goes Down. I really enjoyed it but I doubt anyone reading this would. At night we went to Delgado's Mexican Restaraunt in Normal. The place was highly recommended to me for their strawberry margarita's and I will recommend it to others. We finished off the night by playing a movie trivia game. It was 4 of us against Seth, he was a one man team. Today was another perfect day! We took everyone out to Peoria to go to the Wildlife Prairie State Park. Unfortunately, many of the animals were not out on exhibit yet beacuse we are not far enough into the season. Still, a good time was had by all.

During all these adventures I have found a few fishing locations! (hint:I want a fishing pole for graduation) Speaking of graduation, I have made my official gift list. 1) fishing pole 2)mini grill 3)bike 4)money That's all!

Well, back to work tomorrow. I am so sick of school! I want to graduate now!

Hang in there Suzy! I'm sure we can all relate to the impatience when the goal is so close.

Just think: A school year is about nine months, but so is a typical pregnancy. Both seem like they'll never end when there's only a couple of months to go...

And then there's grad school... Shudder!

Thanks, Scott. I know, I really do feel as if I am losing touch with myself and my sanity through all of this worrying about grad school stuff. I have been examining other options for after graduation, maybe something a little less stressful on me! I mean, if I'm gonna stay in school for another 2 years, maybe I should find something that I can actually get a job in AND get good money for!!
Well, I'll hang in there, I always do.

Being that I was on an engineering track and not a psychology track, maybe it's a bit different for you. But I was wondering, is there work you can do in your field after graduation while going to grad school part time at night? That was the track I took. It can be a bit stressful at times but just take the course load that you can handle and you'll finish when you're ready rather than on some tight time schedule. Many good employers will contribute to paying all or a portion of the expenses as long as it doesn't affect your normal job performance.

Just a thought...

Yes, that is an option. I was hoping to get started asap because I wanted to get married (not that i've made plans) and start having kids before I'm 30! It seems like if I did the long route I would never have time for a family. But I don't know, I guess I'm just waiting to see what is meant to happen
