Snow?!

Posted by Scott at 09:34 PM

This weekend really stunk, weather-wise. It rained and sleeted all day on Saturday. When we woke up this morning, there was about an inch of snow on the ground and it rained most of the day. After Mass we took the kids out for breakfast at the Timeless Diner. When we got back from breakfast we worked on clearing the snow off the driveway. The snow was soo heavy! The snow was like a saturated sponge. Luckily a neighbor who had a 4 wheel ATV with a mini plow on it stopped by to give us a hand.

The precipitation kept us indoors a lot. We lit fires in the fireplace both days. The girls enjoyed seeing the Santa Clause on DVD.

Mom and Dad shopped at the Christmas Tree Shops -- a New England bargain store chain that ironically does not specialize in selling Christmas trees. They bought us a nice pair of end tables for our bedroom. We've been using the same hand-me-down pair of end tables ever since we got married. The new ones nicely match the other wood finishes in our bedroom. While dad and I were assembling the tables, Daniel got a kick out of playing with the shipping boxes. Michael didn't like the boxes but was intrigued with watching how the tables were assembled. It's always interesting to see the differences in their personalities.

We closed the weekend by having a sitter watch the kids while the grownups went out for dinner at Chili's. As much as I love the kids, it was nice to have a quiet relaxing dinner without them.
