Furnace is back up

Posted by Scott at 02:14 PM

The company that installed our furnace when the house was built sent a technician early this morning. The issue had to do with moisture coming back in from the exhaust plumbing and clogging the pressure sensor. He put in a reasonable system to mitigate against that and also replaced the induction motor which he thought might have been adversely affected. I was pretty impressed by the house's insulation. The overnight low last night was 26° and yet from 7:30PM to 5:30AM the next morning the house dropped from 66° to 59°. I lit a fire in the fireplace this morning and brought the temperature back up to 65° on the main floor.

Marketers come up with the strangest things to sell to kids. Blogdex is mentioning two today which are just wrong! First, the children's Pimp Daddy Suit Costume, hat sold seperately. Second, there is Lingerie Barbie. At the moment I'm just speechless.

You've seen email spam before -- offers to lose weight, enlarge your organs, refinance your home, get a better credit card, make money fast from your own home, etc.... Well those scum of the earth are now moving into new territory. They're going after the "comments" section of blogs. Not only do they get free advertising, but it boosts their rankings in search engines because then a bunch of different web sites link back to them. They haven't hit Livejournal servers... yet. I think it'll only be a matter of time though. If it does happen, I may have to shut off the "Leave a comment on this post..." link. It would be a shame. Visitor comments are a large part of what makes weblogging interesting.
