New home preparations

Posted by Scott at 09:41 PM

As if there weren't enough expenses involved in buying a new home, we've had to concern ourselves with getting a washer and dryer as well as a mower appropriate for that much land. Saturday we went Fletchers to order a Maytag Neptune series washer and dryer. Tonight I went to Sears and ordered this tractor mower. (sorry, Sears makes their page a bear to link into...)

Saturday after I worked out at a YMCA Step class we took the boys to the Y's KidStop and took the girls swimming. After wearing the girls out we went to order the washer and dryer. From there we had a quick lunch at Wendy's, one of the few places we can take the entire family. We then drove up to visit Sharon and Dave Nix for the rest of the day. Daniel cried the entire drive north when he should have been taking his afternoon nap! On the plus side about a dozen families did walkthroughs of our house while we were out on Saturday. By Saturday evening we had a few Purchase and Sales offers to look over. By tomorrow night when the holiday weekend is over, the house should be completely under contract. It's hard to dot the 'i's and cross the 't's when banks, law offices, town offices, etc. are closed.

I know I haven't extracted pictures of the family in over a month. I do have a few pictures of the boys with their boyish haircuts. It's just that prep'ing pictures takes time. I'd forgotten how much time it takes to buy and sell homes. Touring houses, getting the financing lined up, making offers, preparing your own home, reviewing offers, getting all the paperwork setup (taxes, insurance, escrows,...), getting movers,... Ay caramba! Trust me, the kids are getting bigger and cuter. If Michelle would just stop giving birth to such cute kids, maybe we'd think about stopping.
