Bleah day...

Posted by Scott at 06:34 PM

When Michelle and I got up, it was a typical Monday amplified by the results of daylight savings time. She didn't want to teach step this morning and I didn't feel like going to work.

She called in the middle of the day for details on a Tudor style home available in Amherst. I gave her the address and she later did a drive by viewing. She decided to pass on it as it was too isolated. There was another Tudor style home in Nashua (mentioned yesterday) but it turns out that the owner has just taken it off the market while they look for a home to move into.

I used ICQ for the first time today. In many ways it was more convenient than using email or the phone. I had to sporadically communicate with our real estate agent... a sentence or two, here and there. I'm sure instant messaging can go crazy if overused, but it was a nice medium point between phone and email.

Abby is happy to be back running her edutainment software on the iMac. I plan on processing some photos tonight after the kids are in bed. It's time for a GIMP fix. It's a little like working in a digital darkroom. Of course, my photo editting doesn't go as far as this person did. ;-P

In case you hadn't heard, Palm (creators of the Palm Pilot) announced their Bluetooth expansion card for some of their units. This was considered by some to be critical in making Bluetooth a mainstream accepted technology. It's ironic that Bluetooth was supposed to be an inexpensive technology. At $129, this isn't exactly cheap. The interoperability looks good though, at least by the specs.

My vote for most stupid Bluetooth/Palm application: BlueChat. With BlueChat you can send messages to someone wirelessly within 30 feet. That's soooo much more efficient than say... using your voice?! (smirk)
